African-American Cultural Heritage Action Fund
Submit your Letters of Intent by January 31 for grants ranging from $50,000 to $150,000.
From capital projects to organizational capacity building, the African-American Cultural Heritage Action Fund grants are designed to advance ongoing preservation activities for historic places such as sites, museums, and landscapes representing African-American cultural heritage within your communities.
National Trust Preservation Funds Grant Program
In addition to the Action Fund, the National Trust has an extensive grants program for nonprofit organizations and public agencies. Last year, over $1 million in grant funding was awarded to 196 projects nationwide.
- National Trust Preservation Funds (Deadline, Feb. 1): These grants are intended to encourage preservation at the local level by providing seed money for preservation projects. Grants generally start at $2,500 and range up to $5,000.
Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors (Deadline, Mar. 1): With grants ranging from $2,500 to $15,000, the purpose of the fund is to assist in the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of historic interiors.
Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation (Deadline, Mar. 1): The fund aims to save historic environments in order to foster an appreciation of our nation’s diverse cultural heritage and to preserve and revitalize communities. Grant funding ranges from $2,500 to $15,000.
